The Good: The first thing you will notice about Benjamin Clementine is his voice. It is a passionate tenor with a huge range that sounds like something out of an opera. He has amazing control of his voice and watching him play the piano while singing is a spectacle. He also has a pretty unique approach to songwriting which he says he developed while homeless and busking in Paris, so thats kind of neat. Overall, At Least for Now is as dark and dramatic as The Phantom of the Opera and almost as technically impressive.

The Bad: Clementine has a tendency to rely on his vocal abilities to power his way through lyrics that might otherwise sound clumsy. Also the extra flourishes or strings and synths can sometimes be over the top and verge on melodramatic and aren’t really needed as Clementine has enough emotion in his voice already.

Would I Listen Again?: Yes
