First Listen Review: The Leisure Society – “The Fine Art of Hanging On”

Genre: Folk Indie

The Good: For fans of indie folk, this band has been within the scene for a while with a pretty established sound. Simple, laid back folk with a drumline to accompany. Certainly pleasant with the occasional unusual baroque instrument strung in for a little English effect.

The Bad: This may be good for die hard fans. Sounds much like their previous records to the point that it still carries on the vibe of middle of the road indie. It has the indie spirit, but it’s the generic feeling one finds across that scene. There is little original character across the songs.

Would I Listen Again: Maybe
