The Good: This album is very base driven. It reminds me of the recently emerged London group named Jungle straight away. This album, however, is a lot quicker to fall in love with. Every song has a good chorus with synths and a bouncing guitar or bass line. “Victim” is a breath of fresh air in this pop/indie climate in its usage of a saxophone, something that hasn’t been used in such a manner since the 80s and in such a way, hints at the use of a very 80s image on the cover. The fusion of these funk lines with modern electronic drumbeats makes this a nuanced listen too, as seen on “She Can’t Tell”.
The Bad: Sometimes maybe the slow songs lack anything particularly interesting for the listener.
Would I Listen Again: Yes
